Autumn Equinox 2017: The setting-Becky's glorious backyard. Playful leaf shadows danced over the altar as we explored polarity; opposing aspects of ourselves, and the shadows and light that influence our daily lives. We journeyed within, observing how we balance these aspects and were given an opportunity to choose areas we'd like to nudge in a new direction. Music, art, rich sharing and connection, once again we reveled in this gift our group gives us. Thank you Becky, Diane, Lisa and Nan. Our 4 facilitators joined the group at the same time and together created a beautiful journey for us. (The images below aren't of the best quality. However, they'll serve as a reminder for us of a beautiful day.)
Autumn Equinox 2016: This celebration had a dramatic twist to it. As we began moving the emphasis of the celebration from empowering our brooms into going inward with visualization, and telling of the darkening days ahead, the lights went out! So, the 2nd half of the celebration continued intrepidly on, by candlelight. We created aprons with strips that had the words or images of what we wanted to work on. We also wrote the things we were ready to let go of on leaves. Then we danced, let our leaves drop to the ground and "swept" them up to put in the cauldron. After that, we conga lined our way out to the fire pit to burn the collected leaves. Sharing around the fire was sweet-under the full Harvest Moon. A dramatic end-one that truly represented a balance between the dark and the light.
